About Us
TSD Surveying was established in 2015. TSD Surveying is the culmination of many years of study and hard work by our founder Tom Darmody.
Tom was born and raised in Queanbeyan. Attending school locally at St. Gregory’s in primary school and St. Edmunds College for his secondary education. It was a work experience week in year 10 that got Tom interested in surveying. After this enjoyable week experiencing only a slice of what surveying had to offer, Tom decided he was going to work towards becoming a registered surveyor.
After finishing school Tom completed an Advanced Diploma in Spatial Information Systems at CIT while working for a surveyor in the Canberra region. Tom then made the move to Newcastle in order to complete a Bachelor of Surveying at the University of Newcastle.
In order to become a Registered Land Surveyor Tom moved to Harden and worked in Young with a rural surveying firm. During this time, Tom was lucky enough to work over a very large area including places from Cowra, Young, Harden and Boorowa to Braidwood, Bungendore, Goulburn, Gunning and many more. The experience Tom gained over this time was so important to developing his well rounded, and level headed approach to surveying.
